2008 Annual Report

The Benedictine Life Foundation was blessed with an outpouring of generous support by hundreds of donors and volunteers in 2008. Much of the financial support was directed to the Restore the Land, Renew Your Spirit campaign to build the new “green” monastery. Also, more than 200 volunteers provided more than 2000 hours of time and talent. We are deeply grateful to all who give of their work, wealth and wisdom throughout the year.

Outright charitable support and other revenue for the year totaled $539,633, including $386,908 to the capital campaign and $18,600 to either the ecumenical or environmental endowments. Net assets increased to $935,810 which included an increase in pledges totaling $290,790. Operating expenses for the year were 18.6% below budget and the foundation paid out $89,474 in grants to further the work of the Benedictine Women of Madison.
