Weaving prayer, hospitality, justice and care of the earth into a shared way of life.

Liturgical Year

The liturgical life of Benedictines is rich and varied. Each year, we recall the mysteries of faith through prayers, hymns, psalms and readings from Scripture. The church year keeps us current with an annual cycle of praise and response to God's goodness.

The heart of the Christian calendar is the Easter Triduum of Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday. Christmas and Easter are the two main feasts of the year and are the days from which the rest of the year is derived. There are four main seasons of the church year: Advent, Christmas, Lent and Easter.

We also celebrate the lives of holy women and men and significant events of the whole church and of this community with observances in our annual cycle of prayer.
