Why do we immediately think of gift shopping, holiday decorating and parties when we think of December?

Is it because we think the only way to celebrate Christmas is with trees and gifts and delicacies?  Advent provides the ideal time to pray, meditate and reflect on what Christmas really is and why we celebrate it.

In December, the Monastery is offering an Advent Day of Reflection.  Why not add this program to your holiday season list?  Think of it as a gift to yourself!
