Educational resource
Every summer since 1999, university students have interned in environmental restoration at Holy Wisdom Monastery. The center's "living laboratory" provides invaluable hands-on training to supplement their classroom education. Students of all grade levels frequently join the interns on site to learn and work together.
We plan to create an outdoor teaching area near the restored prairie, oak savannah and wetland preserve. We also hope to reach out to other environmental organizations. Our goal is to make Holy Wisdom Monastery an environmental educational resource for the greater community.
For information about environmental education projects at Holy Wisdom Monastery, contact Nancy Schlimgen at nschlimgen@benedictinewomen.org or 608-836-1631, ext. 159.
